HardNYC

2004: [ALFRED] Jacalin comes to Alfred on study abroad. We're in Don's graphics elective class. Friends! ♥

2006: [SYDNEY] I go study abroad in Sydney. We go on a road trip!

2010: [NYC] Jac "around-the-world"'s again and makes a stop in NYC.

Yesterday was HardNYC with M.I.A. as the headliner. I wanted to go to this awhile back, but had no one to go with. :( So how fortunate that Jacalin and Tim were going!! Thanks to Craigslist, I got a "cheap" $40 ticket. (Holla.) I love this reuniting of friends and doing fun stuff.

Don't mess with us!

This was an 8-hour concert. We start around 8ish?

Die Antwoord. They KILLED! I didn't know what to expect at all. In fact, they were the fucking best thing of the night and I think they were so good that MIA bombed on purpose.

I don't know why people ask if they are a joke or whatever. I think it's original and batshit crazy in the best way.

The DJ after Die Antwoord killed the high energy. MIA's grand entrance was stalled so many times that the energy was sucked out completely. It was like an American Idol finale, but worse because I kinda expected MIA to somehow bring it hard, but she didn't.

We were pretty close and it didn't make it any more exciting. The graphics were okay and the best thing about the set was the rain+lasers combo at the end. She didn't use it to her advantage though. It was pretty lame.

Adriaan and Tim. On the ferry back. Going on and off Governor's island was pretty smooth.

Jac and Tomo. We're all so beat.

Dirty feet kaleidoscope.

We chilled the night before and it turned into a awful wig party.

Naho

Look at this fucking hipster.

Ocean City, Maryland

For the July 4th weekend, I invited myself along to a friend's annual trip to Ocean City, Maryland. Much fun, relaxation, food, and sleep was had. Good times.

Yay, the beach. The sand was incredibly hot.

On the boardwalk.

Outside our apartment.

The mighty crabfishermen.

Behold—a crab. (They like chicken.)

Our vacation comes to an end.

Oh, and my boyfriend won Wimbledon over the weekend too.
