Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church Award

In Spring 2010, a group of my friends renovated the rec room and kitchen of Harlem's Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church. Members of our extended volunteer family came to support us as well as members of the Church. It was a hectic 5 day renovation and we raised more than $10,000 in 10 days to support our project. Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church recently had their annual Community Award Ceremony in September and presented us an award for our service project. When you're having exponentially shitty day, you can always count on your friends to have you excuse yourself from work to do something random...like see Cirque du Soleil's Zarkana(!) (We saw Brooke Shields during intermission. We had better seats than her!)
